There is a lot of confusion as to what is Legal and what is not in respect to Limo hire. As we are the most reputable Limo hire company in the Neport,cardiff NP,CF, of post code areas of Wales and beyond . The simplest answer is as follows No limo can carry more than 8 passengers regardless of size or type. for example lets say in our area of opertaions Newport, Cardiff, Post codes NP,CF.Bristol, BS. Hummer Limo,Jeep type Limo, Fire Engine Limo, ambulance Limo , super streched Limo that may have seating for up to for example 16 or even 22 passengers.
It is still illegal to carry more than 8 unless the Limo as a COIF short for Certificate of intial fitness. and the chauffeur/Driver also holds a PCV driving licence. As in our areas of limo operations Newport,Cardiff,Bristol. it is also illegal to carry more than 8 in any part of the UK again unless the Limo for hire, Hummer,Jeep,Fire engine, ambulance,super strecth Limo unless theLimo wht every its type or size has a Coif and chauffeur/Driver as the licence's stated above.
We would Suugest that when hiring a limo for over 8 people, that you check when you hire it it has the Required Coif and also the chauffeur/Driver as the correct PCV Licence. On arrival of the Limo. If correctly licenced it will carry A tax disc size licence clearly marked COIF with the various details on iit ref number. when issued expiry ect. much in the same was as a Road tax disc it is normaly to be found next to the Road Tax disc.
Of course many operators that will hire a Limo of the above type and carry the numbers of up to 16 or even 22 without the required Licences. Under what is called Self drive hire contracts. However we have been informed this practice is at best questionable in various legal areas.

In short as a very reputable and proffesional company higly respected in the Limo hire and chauffeur driven car Industry, not just in Newport,Cardiff, Bristol but the whole of the UK. If it was legal and proffesional we of course would provide that service,At the moment we do not have a Limo to conform to COIF regulations therefore like all other reputable companys we will not carry over 8.
